I only use iMovie, an iPhone 6, and a gopro. Nothing fancy at all. Keep the clips under 5 secs unless you have to go longer. If the clip is too long break it up with some b-roll. Ie as I was circling the boats at anchor I needed to show all of it, so I cut in some random shots of me motoring around the harbor. I try to keep all videos under 4 mins, the length of a song. For a 3 min video I had 20 or so stlls and about 45 min of video. It took me about 3 hours to edit as my computer is getting old, and about an hour to render.
