High Water in Urbanna

Last weekend, before Hurricane Joaquin was even forecast I went down the dock to check on the boat. It had been raining on and off for a week at that point ant the winds had been consistently blowing from the north east.

I knew that the water would be up but I was surprised to see how far it had risen.

Apologie for the bad picture quality but I bust the lens on the iPhone…

When I arrived at 10am

One hour later, with two hours before the top of the tide

I walk down this mostly…

I would estimate this as being about four feet higher than normal

Further down the creek, these boats are tied up to a dock

Lucky to have floating docks

I was going to head down today, but I don’t think that I will be able to get to the boat. I know that Deltaville and Windmill Point are flooding and we have more to come in the next few days.Screen Shot 2015-10-03 at 11.59.26 AM
