Last weekend, before Hurricane Joaquin was even forecast I went down the dock to check on the boat. It had been raining on and off for a week at that point ant the winds had been consistently blowing from the north east.
I knew that the water would be up but I was surprised to see how far it had risen.

When I arrived at 10am
One hour later, with two hours before the top of the tide
I walk down this mostly…
I would estimate this as being about four feet higher than normal
Further down the creek, these boats are tied up to a dock
Lucky to have floating docks
I was going to head down today, but I don’t think that I will be able to get to the boat. I know that Deltaville and Windmill Point are flooding and we have more to come in the next few days.

We’re not getting tides that high up in the middle section of the bay. We have “moderately” high tides – 2.5-3 feet above normal.

Me too, I think that she is ok. I spoke to some dock folk yesterday and the water is high but not as bad as other low lyng parts of the bay
